Number wheel
Spin for a number
Pick a number from a range, or from a list of your own. Spin once, or spin a few times in a row and keep every result.
Use the Spin button, press Space, or tap the wheel's centre.
Your device asks for less motion, so results appear without spinning. The draw is exactly the same.
Esc leaves. Space picks.
Numbers drawn
Number wheel
Off, the same number can come up twice. On, each one comes up once until they run out.
One press, that many spins — every result is kept.
How the number wheel picks
Every spin is decided by your browser's cryptographic randomness before the wheel starts turning — the animation only shows a decision already made. Nothing is uploaded: the numbers and the result stay on this device.
Questions about the number wheel
What range can I use?
Any two whole numbers, lowest and highest, or your own list of numbers instead. A wheel can only show so many slices, so a very wide range is drawn from in full while the disc shows the first of them and says how many were left off.
Can the same number come up twice?
By default yes, like rolling a die twice. Switch on Don't repeat and each number comes up once until they run out, and the page tells you when they have.
Is every number equally likely?
Yes. The spin is decided by your browser's cryptographic randomness before the wheel starts turning, and the audit on the How Namesome picks page measures exactly that on fifty thousand spins.
